QBC ParaLens: Economics

The advantages of Fluorescence Microscopy have been known for many years;  however, the extreme cost difference between a fluorescence microscope and a bright light microscope has greatly limited the degree to which fluorescence microscopy has been used.  Until the development of the QBC ParaLens, it was not uncommon to spend $5-10K USD for even an entry-level fluorescence product.  The ParaLens is readily available worldwide for significantly less.

Other Economic Advantages of the ParaLens

More Efficient Diagnostics:  Not only is the ParaLens much more cost effective as an asset purchase, in many applications, the added efficiencies seen using fluorescence microscopy over bright field microscopy will quickly recoup the cost of the ParaLens.

Reduced Training Needs:  Because the microscopist will not need to be retrained on and become comfortable with a totally new microscope, technician training time is less costly than that for traditional fluorescence microscopes.

Reduced Maintenance Costs:  The ParaLens light source utilizes LED technology capable of operating for a lifetime.  Unlike conventional fluorescence products that require regular replacement of costly light bulbs, the ParaLens LEDs will never need to be replaced.
