QBC Diagnostics Releases F.A.S.T. Malaria Stain for Fluorescent Detection of Malaria Parasites

Port Matilda, Pennsylvania, December 8, 2011 -  QBC Diagnostics is pleased to announce the availability of F.A.S.T. (Fluorescence and Staining Technologies) Malaria Stain, a new fluorescence microscopy stain designed to increase the speed and ease of malaria parasite detection.

F.A.S.T. Malaria Stain utilizes the benefits of fluorescence microscopy and the simplicity of the standard blood film to improve clarity and contrast in malaria detection.  Malaria parasites stained with F.A.S.T. stain stand out as bright gold or orange against a dark background, with minimal artifact staining or stray fluorescence.

The stain also provides unmatched speed, with thin blood film staining in just a minute, and requires minimal training, as it uses the same basic smear preparation techniques as Giemsa stain.  F.A.S.T. Malaria Stain can also be combined with QBC Diagnostics' ParaLens Advance LED fluorescence microscope attachment to provide a complete fluorescence microscopy malaria detection system for any lab.
